Planning a few hours in Paris or a day in Giverny? Start with your pickup address, the stops you want to explore on foot and the time you need to be back. These two examples show how to build an itinerary around your group.
Two ways to plan a private tour
Half a day in Paris
Leave your hotel for the Trocadéro, where you can step out for a view of the Eiffel Tower. Then ask for a drop-off near the Louvre to walk through the Tuileries Garden. If you want to enter the museum, share your timed entry when booking. It will determine how much time you have for the rest of the tour. Agree on a pickup point for the end of each walk.
A day in Giverny from your Paris hotel
Give us your hotel address and the time on your ticket for Monet’s house and gardens. Allow for the outward journey, the visit on foot and lunch before returning to Paris. If you have a train or dinner reservation that evening, tell us when you need to be back. Check opening dates and book admission separately.
Sightseeing destinations from Paris
Paris landmarks and neighborhoods
Start at the Trocadéro for a view of the Eiffel Tower, or walk through Montmartre to the Sacré-Cœur. For art and architecture, consider the Louvre or Palais Garnier. Other options include the Champs-Élysées and Arc de Triomphe, the Latin Quarter and Saint-Germain-des-Prés. Explore the Paris sightseeing guide.
Île-de-France and nearby excursions
Choose the Palace of Versailles and its gardens or Fontainebleau Palace and the surrounding forest. For gardens and painting, explore Giverny and Monet’s gardens. For a family day at the parks, see the Disneyland Paris travel guide.
Champagne
In Reims, you might combine the cathedral with a cellar appointment. In Épernay, plan around your booked visit on the Avenue de Champagne. Share the appointment times before deciding whether to include both towns.
Loire Valley châteaux
Choose among Chambord, Chenonceau, Amboise, Blois, Cheverny and Villandry according to your available time. The Blois and Chambord itinerary can help you select stops.
Normandy
Consider Rouen for the medieval center and cathedral, or Honfleur for a walk around the harbour. Deauville and Trouville are options for a coastal outing. For a D-Day itinerary, choose stops such as Omaha Beach, Arromanches or Caen and agree on the return time before departure.
Which vehicle suits your group?
A sedan may suit one or two passengers. The Mercedes V-Class carries up to seven passengers plus the chauffeur. A Mercedes Vito for up to eight passengers plus the chauffeur is available on request. Give us the number and size of your bags, particularly if your tour starts or ends at an airport or train station.
Questions before booking
Can the tour start at an airport or train station?
Yes, by reservation. For Paris Charles de Gaulle, Orly, Le Bourget or Melun-Villaroche, give us the airport, terminal or agreed meeting point and flight details. For Gare de Lyon, Montparnasse or Saint-Lazare, give us the station and train number. In either case, include your final address, luggage details and any deadline for the return journey.
Does the quote include tickets or a guided visit?
Your quote sets out the vehicle, booking duration, stops and agreed waiting time. Ask for separate confirmation if you need admission tickets, a tour guide or a restaurant reservation.
What if a passenger needs a child seat or shorter walks?
Tell us the children’s ages and any seat requirements. If someone has difficulty walking, let us know when booking so we can agree on suitable drop-off and pickup points.
