RER D from Paris Gare de Lyon to Melun, Corbeil-Essonnes and Malesherbes: A Private Chauffeur Guide

At Paris Gare de Lyon, two southbound trains on the RER D can take you to different parts of the region. Before boarding, look up your destination for the date and time you intend to travel. Check the platform display for the stations served, particularly if you are traveling beyond Corbeil-Essonnes.

Which train should you take?

Melun via Combs-la-Ville and Cesson

From Paris Gare de Lyon, the Melun branch via Combs-la-Ville–Quincy runs through the following stations. Check the stops shown for your particular departure before boarding.

From Paris to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges, the stations on this branch are Maisons-Alfort–Alfortville, Le Vert de Maisons, Créteil-Pompadour and Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. Beyond Villeneuve, the route continues through Montgeron–Crosne, Yerres, Brunoy, Boussy-Saint-Antoine and Combs-la-Ville–Quincy.

After Combs-la-Ville, the route runs through Lieusaint–Moissy, Savigny-le-Temple–Nandy, Cesson and Le Mée before reaching Melun. If Melun itself is your destination, compare departures on RER D and Transilien line R. If you need Cesson or Le Mée, look for that station on the RER D departure display.

Corbeil-Essonnes and Malesherbes

For Corbeil-Essonnes, look for a service that lists Corbeil on its stopping pattern. For Malesherbes in the Loiret, some services run through to or from Paris. Other journeys involve a change, for example at Juvisy or Corbeil-Essonnes. Look up both your outward and return journeys: a through train in one direction does not guarantee one at the time you plan to come back. Check the official RER D map, timetable and service updates.

Montargis and Montereau: use Transilien line R

Montargis is on line R. From Paris Gare de Lyon, check for a direct line R departure before planning a change at Melun. The route towards Montargis serves Fontainebleau–Avon, Moret–Veneux-les-Sablons and Nemours–Saint-Pierre. Between Moret and Nemours, the line also serves Montigny-sur-Loing and Bourron-Marlotte–Grez. For Montereau, the final destination alone does not tell you which intermediate stations the train serves. Read the English guide to Transilien line R.

Melun to Montereau: which branch do you need?

Via Moret: after Melun, the route runs through Bois-le-Roi, Fontainebleau–Avon, Thomery, Moret–Veneux-les-Sablons and Saint-Mammès before Montereau. If you are visiting Fontainebleau, look for Fontainebleau–Avon on the display.

Via Héricy: the other route runs through Livry-sur-Seine, Chartrettes, Fontaine-le-Port, Héricy, Vulaines-sur-Seine–Samoreau, Champagne-sur-Seine, Vernou-sur-Seine and La Grande-Paroisse before Montereau. For Champagne-sur-Seine, choose a departure listing that stop. Check the official line R map and timetable for services on your travel date.

Arriving at Gare de Lyon with luggage

Allow time to walk between the long-distance platforms and the RER. If you are going to an address outside the town center, also plan the last leg from the station. This is particularly useful around Malesherbes, on the edge of the Gâtinais, where an address in a neighbouring village can be some distance from the station. See the station guide for access, luggage storage and assistance.

When to book a private transfer

An RER journey can suit a traveler with a light bag and an address close to a station. A pre-booked chauffeur may suit an early flight, several passengers with luggage, a meeting away from the railway or a return after the last suitable train. A road transfer avoids changes of train, but driving time depends on traffic. During engineering works or disruption, check the rail operator’s alternatives and ask us to confirm vehicle availability before changing your plans.

For a pickup, give us the station, train number, scheduled arrival time, onward address and a contact number. Agree on a meeting point and waiting terms. For an airport transfer, add the airport, terminal, flight number and the time you need to be at check-in. Arrange a Gare de Lyon pickup.

Rail connections and onward pickups

If you are continuing north through Paris, check the train’s destination before traveling to Gare du Nord. If you plan to change from train to car at Melun station, agree on a meeting point before you arrive.

A road transfer can also connect your station or home address with Paris, Fontainebleau, Orléans, Sens or Auxerre. Give the exact pickup and destination addresses when requesting your quote.

Booking questions

Can I book at short notice in Malesherbes?

You can request a quote for an address in Malesherbes, Corbeil-Essonnes, Melun or Paris. At short notice, departure time and availability must be confirmed before you rely on the transfer. We are available 24/7 by reservation.

Which vehicle fits my group and luggage?

Include all passengers, suitcase sizes, pushchairs and other bulky items. A sedan may suit one or two travelers; a Mercedes V-Class carries up to seven passengers plus the chauffeur. A Mercedes Vito for eight passengers plus the chauffeur is available on request. Confirm luggage space for the vehicle proposed. If you need a child seat or booster, give the child’s age and request it when booking.

What should I check before paying?

Confirm the pickup address and time, destination, vehicle category, price and what is included for waiting or additional stops. First Class Partner takes payment online. If you need an invoice, provide the billing details when booking. Contact First Class Partner for a quote.
