Overnight travel between Paris and Berlin has changed since this article was first published in September 2025. The end of the former Nightjet service in December 2025 did not mean the permanent disappearance of every overnight connection between the capitals.
A different service from the former Nightjet
European Sleeper now offers a connection between Berlin and Paris-Nord. Check the operator and station printed on your ticket instead of using the former Paris-Est train’s schedule or amenities.
Consult the official European Sleeper website for bookable dates, timetables and accommodation categories. Do not infer the route, equipment or services from an old article.
Choose your comfort level
Compare seats, shared compartments and private options offered for your travel date. Check the number of passengers permitted, bedding and services included in the selected category. A starting fare may not match your preferred comfort level or available dates.
Discuss accessibility requirements before purchasing and check rules for luggage, pets and special equipment. Do not assume that bicycles or particular onboard services are available simply because another route offered them.
Plan your Paris station transfer
The European Sleeper service described here uses Gare du Nord in Paris. Always confirm the station on your ticket. If arriving from another station or an airport, allow enough time for transportation and boarding.
A private chauffeur can provide the road transfer by reservation. Share the station, train number, passenger count and luggage details. For an arrival pickup, agree on a specific meeting point and check waiting terms if the train is delayed.
