Massy Vilmorin: plan connections between coaches, RER and TGV
Vilmorin bus station is part of the Massy-Palaiseau transport hub. It connects local buses, selected long-distance coaches and nearby rail services, including Massy TGV. For Paris, an airport or another region, a successful connection depends on the exact stop, schedules and walking time between the different parts of the hub.
Address and finding your stop
FlixBus and BlaBlaCar identify Vilmorin bus station on Avenue Raymond Aron in Massy. FlixBus lists 63–75 Avenue Raymond Aron and a platform toward the back of the bus station. Always check your ticket and the operator’s latest instructions: “Massy TGV,” “Massy-Palaiseau” and “Vilmorin” do not mean the same platform. Do not rely solely on “Rue Vilmorin” or a promised two-minute walk.
Rail connections
The RER B serves Paris, Antony and, depending on the train, the CDG airport branch. The Massy-Palaiseau–Versailles-Chantiers service is now line V. Tram T12 links Massy-Palaiseau with Évry-Courcouronnes. Older RER C descriptions may therefore be outdated: check the current route through Île-de-France Mobilités or SNCF Connect. Massy TGV is a separate station within the same hub; destinations such as Lyon, Marseille, Rennes or Strasbourg depend on the trains offered for your date.
Reaching Orly from Massy
One option is the RER B to Antony followed by Orlyval to Orly’s terminals. An estimate of 30–35 minutes may be a reference for some connections, but it is not a date-specific journey plan and may exclude waiting, walking or airport formalities. Check tickets and schedules. A private transfer avoids rail connections, with journey time subject to road traffic.
Reaching Charles de Gaulle
Choose an RER B train serving Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 TGV; a train toward Mitry–Claye does not serve the airport. The trip from Massy may take around 1 hour 15 minutes depending on the service, excluding terminal access. Check engineering work and any required changes. Terminal 1 requires CDGVAL from Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 1 station; allow walking time for Terminal 3, and identify your Terminal 2 hall and any shuttle to 2G. Do not plan around a direct Massy–CDG coach unless you have verified an available service.
Long-distance coaches and alternatives to Paris stations
FlixBus and BlaBlaCar publish stop information for Vilmorin. Other operators, destinations and frequencies must be checked when booking: an older list mentioning ALSA, Union Ivkoni or Sindbad does not guarantee a current departure from this stop. For Lyon, Bordeaux, Marseille, Brussels, Barcelona or Milan, compare actual direct or connecting offers. Massy may avoid a detour through Paris, but does not guarantee a lower price or shorter journey than every other departure point.
Three examples of combined journeys
1. After an Orly flight: Orlyval to Antony, RER B to Massy, then a reserved coach to Lyon or another destination. Include disembarkation and baggage collection; one hour overall should not be treated as a guaranteed connection.
2. After a TGV from Lyon: walk to the RER B for CDG or use a confirmed road transfer. Check the route between the TGV platform and the next departure.
3. From Paris to Bordeaux: take the RER B to Massy, then your booked TGV or coach. Compare the whole journey with a Paris departure before buying.
Tickets, apps and connection buffers
Use official Île-de-France Mobilités, Bonjour RATP and SNCF Connect tools plus your coach operator’s app. Check actual schedules rather than a generic five-to-ten-minute frequency. Download tickets, keep your phone charged and locate the platform before departure. Buying several modes together does not automatically protect a missed connection; read the terms of each ticket.
Facilities, accessibility and parking
BlaBlaCar lists no restrooms or ticket counter at its Vilmorin stop. Do not confuse bus-station facilities with those inside the TGV building: food outlets, shops, waiting areas and Wi-Fi have their own locations and hours. SNCF lists a mezzanine waiting area with Wi-Fi and power sockets at Massy TGV.
For reduced mobility, check the complete route, elevator availability and assistance from the relevant operator. SNCF assistance can be requested under its booking arrangements; an accessible train does not guarantee that your coach is accessible.
Parking and drop-off areas exist around the hub. Check the access side, price, height restrictions and walking route to the platform.
