For a trip to the Alps, start with the address where you will stay. A direct train to Annecy may suit a lakeside hotel. For a chalet in Savoie, Chambéry or a station farther up the valley may mean a shorter drive. Plan the pickup on each side of the train journey around the stations named on your ticket.
Choosing a station for Lyon, Savoie or Haute-Savoie
Lyon Part-Dieu or Lyon Saint-Exupéry TGV
Direct trains run from Paris Gare de Lyon to Lyon Part-Dieu. Other services arrive at Lyon Saint-Exupéry TGV, near the airport. Give your chauffeur the full station name: a driver waiting at Part-Dieu will not be at Saint-Exupéry. Paris–Lyon timetable (in French) · Arriving at Lyon Part-Dieu.
Annecy and Chambéry
Direct services run to Annecy and Chambéry–Challes-les-Eaux. Other departures involve a change. For a lakeside address, give the town and side of the lake; for a ski resort, send the village and residence name. Compare the whole journey to your accommodation. Geneva Cornavin and mountain resorts
Direct TGV Lyria services link Paris and Geneva. Give Geneva Cornavin as the pickup point for a city-center arrival. If you have a flight from Geneva Airport, allow for the journey from the railway station to the terminal. For the Tarentaise valley, also check Moûtiers or Bourg-Saint-Maurice for your travel date and see where you need to change trains. Geneva timetable · Bourg-Saint-Maurice timetable.

Dijon, the Mediterranean, Barcelona and Milan
Direct departures from Paris Gare de Lyon also serve Dijon, Marseille Saint-Charles, Nice and Montpellier. Check whether your Montpellier ticket says Saint-Roch or Sud de France before booking your driver. Some trains to Dijon leave from Paris-Bercy. For Strasbourg, check whether your ticket shows Paris Gare de l’Est.
Direct trains also serve Barcelona and Milan. A direct train may stop at several stations: you stay on board. Check the departure station, arrival station and any changes for the specific service you book.
Booking the transfers on either side of your train journey
In Paris, provide the pickup address, train time and luggage details. If you are coming from an airport, add the flight number and terminal. Allow time for the drive and for finding your platform. See the practical guide to Paris Gare de Lyon for station access and services.
For an Alpine pickup, provide the train number, exact station, hotel or chalet address and number of passengers. Mention skis, pushchairs and large bags before requesting the quote. Confirm the meeting point, waiting terms and seasonal availability. For the return, plan your pickup at the accommodation around the train departure time.
For example, on a Paris–Annecy return trip you can book a pickup at your Paris hotel and a separate pickup when your train reaches Annecy. Give the details for each leg separately and tell the team meeting you if the train changes. Book the Paris station transfer · Request a transfer in the Alps.
